Snoring/Obstructive
Sleep Apnea (OSA)
Evaluation
Of Snoring/OSA -A full ENT/Head and Neck examination (including
Flexible Nasopharyngolaryngoscopy) is required to evaluate the likely
causes and severity of snoring/OSA.
Polysomnography
(PSG) also known as Sleep Study is usually needed for a full
evaluation. Ambulatory PSG can be arranged in the natural home environment
or in the comfort of the hotel room. The data and report is usually
ready in 2-3 days.
Surgery for
Snoring/OSA include:
Somnoplasty
(including Radiofrequency Palate Stiffening )
Laser Surgery
Uvulo-palato-pharyngoplasty
(UPPP) including Coblation-assisted Uvulo-palatoplasty (CAUP).
When surgery
is not warranted or recommended, a device known as nasal CPAP
(Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) may be required. We will
advise on this.
Voice Disorders-
Fibreoptic Video-Nasoendoscopic Evaluation Of Larynx to diagnose
different causes of voice disorders.
Depending on
pathology, Speech therapy or Microlaryngeal surgery (with or without
the use of laser) may be required.
